nthony D. Smith: Nations and Nationalism in a Global Era
British Journal of Sociology 47(4): 736–37.
Few have written as much on nationalism as Professor Anthony D. Smith. Indeed, one must agree with Professor Eric Hobs‐ bawm’s reference to the author as ’the main guide’ to the topic. The current work continues this valuable bibliographical and systematizing mission. In addition to offering a concise synthesis of the literature, the book goes beyond the conventional focus on past cases by exploring the future development of nationalism.
