NASTAC - Work Package 3

The most important preparation in this area has been to update the Ethnic Power Relations dataset all the way to 2020, including ACD2EPR conflict coding. This information will be crucial for the contemporary analysis in this work package. Several of the aforementioned papers cover the entire world from 1945, so in this very sense, we have already starting moving beyond Europe at the analytical level. In particular, this pertains to the “Redemption through rebellion” paper. Furthermore, our aforementioned analysis of the “Macedonian syndrome” will take up the challenge of whether nationalism affects conflict patterns in the contemporary era. Furthermore, we will be able to draw on recently completed research on power sharing, including a new book co-authored by Cederman, which is in press with Cambridge University Press.
